RX-CC SERIES (Conductive Powder Coating - ESD)

RX-CC SERIES (Conductive Powder Coating - ESD)

The RX-CC series consists of thermosetting powder coatings designed for use in environments where sensitive electronic equipment must be protected from electrostatic discharge (ESD). The conductive coating disperses static charges that accumulate on the surface, ensuring that electronic components are better protected during use.

What is ESD, and which materials are suitable for dissipating static electricity?

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) is the transfer of electrostatic charge between two objects with different electron levels. This exchange generates a strong electromagnetic field, which can be highly damaging to electronic devices sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Proper grounding is essential to prevent ESD damage. Everything in a work area should be connected to a grounding system.

Conductive materials, such as steel surfaces, cannot be used as antistatic surfaces because sudden and rapid discharge is more harmful to electronic devices. Instead, electrostatic dissipative materials are used to slowly release static charges into the grounding system.

Recommended Surface Resistivity:

From 10⁵ to 10⁹ ohms/square.
